LIVING HISTORY PHOTO SERIES
LIVING HISTORY PHOTO SERIES
March 2020 will forever remain one of the most pivotal moments in our lives. In an instant, something invisible to the naked eye turned the world upside down. Travel halted, human connection faded, and life settled into a repetitive cycle of isolation—a loud silence filled with uncertainty and the painful waiting for life to return to normal.
During the first week of March, my dad and I were visiting South Carolina for a family gathering. While at Food Lion, we both stopped in our tracks upon receiving emails that altered everything. He was told not to return to work, and I was given just one week to move out of my graduate dorm. It felt like a scene from a movie—we stood there, confused, as the reality of what was happening began to sink in.
The next day, I had a photoshoot, and the first photo of this series comes from that session. The pandemic shifted my perspective, teaching me that candid photos are just as valuable as meticulously planned ones. They capture raw, unfiltered moments—those fleeting instances we so easily overlook or take for granted.
This ongoing series has changed the way I approach photography. It deepened my appreciation for the medium, reminding me that every image holds a story, whether staged or spontaneous. They say, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” but sometimes, it only takes a few to make the most profound point.Click on each photo and let its message unfold.
